“True sustainability only happens when the roots of the system are strong.”
In many parts of Thailand—especially in rural areas—farming remains the main source of income for countless families. These communities are rich in knowledge, hard work, and local resources. Yet, many of them still struggle to earn a stable income. Why? Because they lack access to bigger markets, product development skills, and reliable business partners who offer fair prices.
At Scent and Sense, we understand the value of a strong grassroots economy. That’s why we began building partnerships with local communities across the country, with the goal of improving livelihoods and creating long-term opportunities.
We’ve worked closely with communities in Phrae, Chiang Rai, and Tak, where the land is ideal for growing herbs and natural raw materials that are essential for our products. These communities already have great potential—but what they often lack is the support system needed to turn that potential into premium-grade products.
Scent and Sense doesn’t just enter communities to buy raw materials. We come in as partners for development, working side-by-side with villagers every step of the way.
Here’s what we do
Organic farming training : Teaching safe, chemical-free cultivation that benefits both people and the environment
Herb processing workshops : Including drying techniques, storage methods, and scent extraction from local herbs
Cost management planning : Helping farmers understand how to price their goods in a way that ensures sustainability and profit
Marketing guidance : Supporting them in branding, packaging, and cooperative selling strategies
After working together consistently—sometimes for months, sometimes for years we've seen real, positive changes in many communities
Farmer incomes have increased by 30 – 50% on average each year
Communities have formed local enterprises, managing their own production and sales systems
Fewer people are leaving their villages to find work in big cities—because they now have stable income right at home
Perhaps the most powerful change is how people feel. Villagers say they are proud of what they create. They no longer see themselves as just “ suppliers of raw materials ” but as a vital part of the Scent and Sense brand.
At Scent and Sense, we believe a great brand isn’t just built on good products—it’s built on a strong value chain, starting with quality ingredients and the people who produce them.
Every time you choose a product from us, you’re not just choosing something that smells good you’re choosing to be part of a powerful change.
Because the truest fragrance…is the scent of collaboration, grown from the very roots of society.
