What is Perfume Design?

It is the process of designing and creating fragrances. It uses a variety of ingredients, both natural and synthetic, to achieve a unique scent and communicate certain feelings to the user.

The people behind these scents are called perfumers, or respectfully called "perfumers".

In scent design, a bottle of perfume is divided into 3 levels, also known as "Fragrance Notes", namely :

1. Top Note – The first smell you feel after the injection.

It is usually a refreshing scent such as orange, bergamot, lemon or mint. This smell will only last for 5–15 minutes.

2. Heart Note – The central scent that expresses the identity of the perfume.

It is the time when the perfume begins to settle down, and the scent can linger for 2–4 hours.

3. Base Note – The last scent stays on your skin until the end of the day.

It is usually a warm, deep scent such as vanilla, musk, fragrant wood. Amber or patchouli helps the overall scent to last for a long time and is unique.

Sorting these notes is not easy. Because each scent evaporates and reacts differently on the skin. For a perfume to "string" notes smoothly, it requires a high level of expertise.
